I read about this earlier. Dr Sophie Lazarus, who is a clinical psychologist at Ohio State, says in a world that glorifies staying busy, taking a brief break alone can be "rewarding" both mentally and physically. She explains that even taking a few minutes to yourself can reduce the stress of the season and help your mental health.
Thoughts people?
I read somewhere that mood can be linked to sunlight and that’s why we’ve developed language like ‘things are looking up’, ‘dark thoughts’. This guy, might have been a psychologist or something, was advocating looking up at the sky for sixty seconds every day if you’re feeling depressed. He says if you’re feeling low you automatically look down. Interesting theory. There was something about vitamin D receptors on your eye lids too but I don’t know if that had anything to do with mood.
I completely agree. I’ve never gone completely down the route of meditation but I suppose it’s much the same thing. Often wondered about giving meditation ago but never got round to it.
